Exciting news! Today we got given a provisional date for work to start on installing a new kitchen and utility room.
Beginning on Monday 15th April (subject to confirmation by the end of the week) we will have our existing kitchen and utility room fixtures and fittings ripped out and a new ones put in their place.
This is, as best as I can manage it (I don't have a wide-enough angle for my camera) an equivalent view of the kitchen as it looks now...
We will get new main oven and smaller oven, an induction hob, built-in dishwasher, bins and fridge/freezer and new lighting and flooring.
This is the plan for the utility room.
This design was produced by and will be installed by a local company K2bbespokekitchens, who use local craftsmen. See some of their finished projects here. Their showroom on Barton Road is impressive.
We are using their Southwold furniture design. Here are samples of the materials and colours we are using...
The surfaces will use DEKTON Xgloss 20mmm Salina, with Mylands Bond Street dark blue and Valspar Rabbit's Foot paints. Our flooring will be Karndean Knight Tile K95 Rose Washed Oak and we will have new Neff appliances.
Exciting! But it will be a lot of disruption, so we've already started clearing the garage to make room for stuff and will be hiring temporary storage for the kitchen contents while the build is done. More anon!
You can see 360 degree mock-ups with multiple viewpoints of our designs here : Kitchen design and Utility Room design.
Looks like it will be just amazing! It's a real pain while it is done but will be worth it. Look forward to seeing the new final installation.
