Bradfield Woods Butterflies

About this time of year 3 years ago, Dawn took Sarah to Bradfield Woods. The blackberry flowers were out and attracted a mass of butterflies.

So, after Kirsty and David left this morning, we took a trip to Bradfield Woods to see if we could find any. Maybe there would have been more in the afternoon or on a different day, but, following the Red trail, as Dawn had done before, we saw plenty where the flowers were out in the sun.  Here are a few I managed to photograph.

A silver-washed fritillary. We saw lots of these.

A White Admiral.

The underside.

Another fritillary.

They were lovely to see. Thanks for suggesting we go and look, Dawn.
