Seton Sands Longniddry

We are in Scotland for a week staying at Seton Sands Holiday Village, Longniddry, where we have a nicely appointed static caravan.

We are here for my cousin Hazel and her husband John's Ruby Wedding Anniversary celebration on Saturday and decided to make a week of it. Here are some photos from today.

There are also 2 more bedrooms so we will be able to put sister Sue up on Friday and Saturday nights.

The park is nicely arranged with little groups of holiday homes in separate areas.

Our check-in time was 1pm to 2pm and we arrived about 1:30. We had postponed our packed lunch until we got there and had it on the verandah.

But then the rain came while we unpacked.

It didn't last long, though, and we went out to explore the site. There is a convenience store on site but we decided we would walk into Longniddry and shop at the Co-op there.

 

 

The site is just over the road from the beach and the Firth of Forth. We can see Fife on the other side.

Looking upriver we could make out the bridges over the Forth and some tall yellow structures at Port of Leith - the jacket foundations for wind turbines.

We popped into the bar/restaurant and had a drink before heading for Longniddry. We were back here later for our evening meal.

Our 2 mile or so route into Longniddry passed Hazel's house, so we knocked on the door to say hello. She came with us to show us the best way to the Co-op, which passed this information panel about the history of Longniddry.
