Boudicca Way - Part 2

Today we had a linear walk from Tasburgh to Pulham St. Mary.

It was the second part of our mission to walk the entire Boudicca Way between Diss and Norwich. Read about Part 1 - Pulham St. Mary to Diss here. This was the invite from Joyce for today.

"Friday October 16th Part 2 of The Boudicca Way. Please find your own parking in Pulham St Mary. We are going to take the 9.41am bus to Tasburgh so if you would like toilets and coffee at The Pennoyer Centre IP21 4QT before you catch the bus then they open at 9am. If you would like to skip coffee then meet us at 9.35am at the bus stop near Pennoyers (Long Stratton direction).  The walk is 10.5miles with no facilities until we reach the pretty village of Pulham Market after 9 miles. Please bring food/drink for the day. "

This was our route today.

Here are some of my photos.

Here comes our bus.

Off we go along the Boudicca Way. We had plenty of quiet back road walking today. It was a bit rainy to start, but nothing too heavy.

The leaves are turning and falling now.

These profuse foamy white panicles on a hedge we passed are, I think, of Russian vine a plant of the knotweed variety aka  Bukhara fleeceflower, Chinese fleecevine, mile-a-minute and silver lace vine.

The trees in and on the edge of Fritton Common.

The rain had stopped now and we had our drink stop here.

We had some lovely paths through woods, including Tyrrels Wood.

No need to use the boardwalks as the ground was still quite dry.

At the carpark at the exit from the wood we stopped for our lunch.

Oo look! Some blue sky at last!

We did some filed edges too. We liked the line of poplars...

...and contented cows here.

These trees were suddenly illuminated by the sun.

We came to Pulham Market.

Some moisture had got between my UV filter and lens on my camera giving condensation on the lens which spoiled some of my photos from here on.

The Crown Inn  with church behind.

I had got into a walking rhythm and had got ahead of the others, but waited for them here.

We carried on past St. Mary Magdalen church, but didn't visit it. Maybe next time - Simon Knott's description of it (follow the link) makes it sound worth visiting.

We passed a house with amazing plastering. Here is my photograph from the last time we came this way without the blurring misty-effect I got this time.

We passed this lovely house for sale with a guide price of £635,000

It was sunny now as we approached Pulham St. Mary.

We passed Dirty Lane that we came along when we did Part 1 in August - (see here).

An here we were back at the Pennoyer Centre where we started.

I headed for home to beat the Friday afternoon traffic as the others stopped here for a cup of tea.

Thank-you Joyce for organising and leading us and to everyone else for the additional company.
