Southsea Food Festival 2022

Four years ago when we visited Laura in Portsmouth we found the Southsea Food Festival was on and visited it (see here). And it was on this year on the same weekend... this one! So that was our entertainment for the after graduation sorted!

Here are a few of my photos.

First we had to walk the 2 miles or so from our hotel in the centre of Portsmouth to Southsea. We liked this mosaic we came across on the way.

As before, there were giant pans of paella bubbling away and smelling delicious.

Sarah had a smoothie made from acai and other fruits from the Ono Bowls stall.

Delicious

I'd not seen this before. Making ice-cream on a cold-plate.

The mixture is put on the plate and any fruit chopped up and the mixture freezes on the plate. It is then scraped off into curls of ice-cream.

It looked amazing, but the queue was too long to wait for one.

I just had to try the chilli sauces, though...

Crossing the road the to extra set of stalls on the path to the sea front, they had men with ropes controlling pedestrians crossing the road at the zebra crossing... otherwise no traffic would have been able to flow because of the constant stream of people wanting to cross!

There were plenty more stalls here.

My most groanworthy business name award goes to... Orsom Cheeses.

I didn't buy any cheese but I did have some Southsea Brewing Co. beer - their refreshing and thirst-quenching Low Tide. It didn't have to travel far.. we were less than 1/4 mile from the brewery.

Meanwhile Laura and Laurence were waiting for some Takoyaki - Octopus balls, to be cooked.

And Sarah had a corn dog.

The octopus balls were very tasty.

We had a little walk along the sea front.

There was live music in the park.

The fountains were very popular for walking through.

We couldn't get down to the beach here because of the building work.

Then it was back through the food festival. Laura and I had some Columbian arecas.

Then it was back to Portsmouth city centre and our cars for the drive home.

A lovely day out to end our mini-break in Portsmouth.
