A Day Out in Cambridge

Today I met up with Kirsty and David again, this time for a day in Cambridge.

I suggested we meet a the Newmarket Road Park&Ride and walk from there into the city centre (and back again later). We met just after 10am and again had lovely weather.

Here are a few of my photos.

None of these houses were here 3 years ago.

We enjoyed seeing the rowers, both experienced and novice.

We passed a few Dinky Doors. This is No. 9 - The Dinky Flying Object

The Lido was just closing.

No. 8 - Ride and Park.

There was a lovely show of crocusses in the lawn outside Trinity College

The  Michaelhouse Centre is a favourite stop for coffee, so we went there again.

We tried going through Newnham College, but this gate was closed.

Here we are arriving at West Road Concert Hall for a lunchtime concert.

What concert? Well I think it deserves its own post - see here.

After the concert we had a bit to eat at The Buttery, just recently reopened after being closed for 2 years (read about it here).

Then it was back across the river and through the town.

Outside the Cambridge University Press shop we found a Dinky Door I don't think I'd seen before.

We found some dinky violins in the window of Cambridge Strings (where Sarah got her violin from).

Then it was back along the river....

...and paths...

To the Park&Ride. Another great day out.

You can see more of my photos here on Flickr.
