This time it is Phil's turn to provide the fortnightly Weekend Quick Cryptic crossword, Number 116 in the series.
You can try and solve the crossword interactively here on MyCrossword or here on crossword.info. As usual you can download a PDF to print which you can find here. Alternatively you can copy and print the image below. Comments and queries are welcome with the solution post (which also gives tips on some of the clues). I will react to any comments or queries there as soon as I can. You can find an index to the complete series of crosswords here.
Finger trouble, hit send by mistake, should be Lo (look), we (we), r (start to river)
ReplyDeleteThis is getting worse! Looks like first comment didn’t post, had said thanks to all for these much appreciated QCs and coincidence that 9A could be parsed as above - but hit send by mistake before. Finished.
ReplyDeleteLol. No worries. Your first comment was against the solution post rather than the crossword post. All 3 received and appreciated. Yes that looks like a valid alternative parsing. I haven't checked with Phil as I do the blog independently, but I think my parsing is what he was thinking.
DeleteIt's an interesting coincidence, but John's parsing is indeed what I intended. I wouldn't use LO to indicate "look out", it being more an instruction to look AT something, rather than a warning.
ReplyDeleteThanks, yes thought Lo was a bit of a stretch and hadn’t realised there were 2 sets of posts!
