Mothers' Day Family Gathering

We have Sarah home for a few days. She arrived yesterday morning and will stay until Monday evening. She said she had some news but wouldn't tell us until she saw us. Then she said she wouldn't tell Laura and William until she saw them either, so they both came yesterday in time for an evening meal together to hear her news instead of today as they had planned...

...and her news was was that she and Ethan had just had an offer accepted on buying a house together in Malton in North Yorkshire. The mortgage will cost no more than they are currently paying to rent a student house in York, and they can get a lot more for their money, so it makes great financial sense. A fully refurbished 3-bedroom detached house with vacant possession and no onward chain. Fingers crossed it all goes through OK. Laura, Laurence and William all looked suitably envious!

Of course the other reason for being here is that it's Mothers' Day today, so we were able to have a celebratory family lunch. But before that, we took a trip to Nowton Park for a walk. I put the pork in the oven about 9am took slowly for 5 hours and, once everyone was ready, off we went. Here are a few  more photos.

So home again for our Sunday lunch of pulled pork.

Thank-you all for coming and good luck with the house-buying Sarah.
