Rattlesden Walk

It was a lovely frosty winter morning... the first of the year. "Shall we go for a walk?",  asked Dawn. I knew just the place to go to enjoy the sunshine and wintery landscape. A short version of my previous Rattlesden walk.

This was our route.

Oops. I forgot to set my tracker going until we had gone 1/4 mile, but I think you will work out the missing bit - we started at the pavilion and headed along the path behind it towards the allotments.

Here are a few photos.

I enjoyed the frosty bit at the start.

The styles were a bit icy, though.

The River Rat was quite full.

We turned left up the hill after this muddy bit of track.

We got plenty of wide vistas with views to Gt. Finborough, Woolpit and Rattlesden churchs over our walk.

The moat at Clopton Hall was partially frozen.

Clopton Green.

A little further on we came across some deer prints, be we didn't see the deer.

Cora's Walk...

...took us to the path past this nice garden.

Coming back into Rattlesden we followed the footpath to the church rather than the lane.

Then it was a short walk through the village back to the car.

That was nice Sunday morning walk and just long enough to get a bit of an appetite for lunch.

You can see more details of our walk here on MapMyWalk and more of my photos here on Flickr, and a longer version of the walk, as done in September,  here.
