A Lackford Lakes Amble

We have Laura and Laurence staying for the Easter weekend and  we took them to visit Lackford Lakes this morning..

We didn't walk far and spent some time in several of the bird hides watching the waterfowl. Here are a few photos.

What is that at the edge of the lake?

A muntjac deer.

There were several cormorants. Here is own sunning its wings.

This is a teal.

I tried in vain to catch a chiff-chaff and a wren singing outside one of the hides. But when we got back to the visitor centre we saw a number of blackcaps on the ground outside.

I'm nt sure I've caught any on camera before.

That was a pleasant and relaxing morning. Then it was home for lunch.
