Seahouses and Bamburgh

Today Dawn and I did a bit of sightseeing with some short walks at Seahouses and then Bamburgh.

No routes to show you of our walks, but here are a few photos.

We will be back later this week for a Farne Islands boat trip, I'm sure.

The harbour.

We went for a walk along the bottom as the tide was out. On the cliffs we could make out the silhouettes of golfers on the Seahouses Golf Course.

I managed to catch a seal twirling in the water.

It is not far from here to Bamburgh with its impressive castle.

There is a display board in the harbour telling the story of Grace Darling.

No sandy beach here, just rock pools.

We passed The Rescue statue on the way back to our car.

Now on to Bamburgh.

We walked past the castle and round the back towards the beach.

This is Inner Farne island.

We walked about 1/2 way to Seahouses along the beach before crossing the dunes. and turning back.

On our way back to the car we popped into the famour Robert Carter's butcher shop to get some scotch pies for a belated lunch.

They were delicious.
