Kitchen Replacement Update

An exciting day today. Our kitchen and utility room surfaces have been installed!

We also had more work done by Tony and Carl on the fittings and electrics. But one fly in the ointment - there had been a mix-up on the hob. The induction hob that was specified is no longer available so Lee has had to reorder and we won't get that until Friday. No matter as we wont get our flooring laid until the weekend so it hasn't delayed getting everything finished... and it does mean we get the latest model induction hob instead.

Carl has installed new smoke alarms for us (thereby hangs a tale) and wall-mounted our kitchen TV. Plinth heaters and cooker hood are wired up and all of the lights over the cooking area are now operational.

To celebrate after the workers had all left we had a gin and tonic. Our first use of the new worktops!
Here are a few photos....

The hob will go in this space on Friday.

We really like the new taps.

There is a drainer with the kitchen sink.

The utility room sink...

The dryer is now mounted above where the washing machine will be and we got those shelves added today.

And with all the lights on just now...

Nearly there, and we think the new Dekton stone surfaces look fabulous.

Thank-you to the guys who had travelled down from Leicester to install the surfaces and Carl and Tony for their electrics and installation work. Not much more apart from the floor and hob to do now!
