Tonight it was the West Suffolk Youth Music Spring Concert... a chance for us all to go and hear Willaim (among plenty of others!), perform.
This was the programme...
The wind band were as good as ever and the Jazz Ensemble have grown and improved. I particularly enjoyed their rendition of Sony Rollins' St. Thomas. Of the orchestra pieces, Sarah liked the Wedding march best, but I preferred the Brahms, with their conductor, Mike Waters, making them play as fast as he dared. Great stuff!
And we had a bonus piece at the end with all the ensembles joining together to perform The Curse of the Black Pearl, featuring the lady tutors on percussion... who seemed to enjoy themselves more than anyone.
A lovely night out of excellent music. Next up, the Suffolk Youth Orchestra Easter concert at Snape!
