Pakenham and Thurston Walk

This is by way of a sneak preview of a group walk to come.... Joyce sent me details of a route to recce and invited me and a couple of others from the group to join her, but it ended up being just the two of us. We met early at Pakenham Church, aiming to complete our walk by 12:30 at the latest.... which we did with time to spare.

The walk was a mix of paths the group had walked before and some new ones to create a circular walk where we could stop at Tickety-Boo cafe on the way, as featured on this walk last November.

This was our route...

Just a couple of photos as a taster... come on the walk when we do it as a group to see more.

Pakenham Church, our starting and ending point.

Pakenham Old Hall.

Somewhere in here was a sedge warbler singing away. Can you see it? We couldn't.

We did see this, though

We had time for Capuccinos at Tickety-Boo. although I was tempted by the Turmeric Latte.

It was a perfect summer's day. Look at this field ripening in the sun.

Towards the end we came to some fantastic poppies.

Nether Hall.

You can see more of my photos here on Flickr and more details of our route here on MapMyWalk

Thanks Joyce for a lovely morning out. I think we have a decent walk to share with others here!
