Brandon Country Park Fungus Foray

Today we had our annual autumn trip to Brandon Country Park to look for mushrooms and enjoy the autumn colours.

We were maybe a week or two late to get the best of both, but it was still a great morning walk. As usual we visited the walled garden and then did the purple marked trail. This was our route.

Here are a few photos.

In the walled garden.

Now onto the walk.

This colony was impressive.

Some nice cones.

Fruiting lichen.

We saw a few outcrops of Yellow Stagshorn.

The heath is looking quite wintery now.

Back through the trees....

...and past the nursing home and lake.

and we finished via the end of Tree trail.

And then it was home for lunch. Nice.

You can see more details of our route here on MapMyWalk and more of my photos here on Flickr.
