Today I took Dawn to Sheringham Park to see the Rhododendrons and go for a walk down to Weybourne and along a stretch of the Norfolk Coast.

Yesterday I was presented with the first harvest from the garden of the year to incorporate into a meal.
After 2 weeks maturing wrapped in a cheesecloth in a container in the fridge I checked out my Cheshire-style cheese.
I've now completed my blog posts of this year's Suffolk Walking Festival Challenge Walk.
My Index to this year's walks John's Walks 2023 has been updated up to 4th May. I've added an extra column to give links to GPX files of my routes, although I haven't made some of the GPX files available yet. As always the index updates may have some inadvertent errors in the links as it is quite a manual process which is easy to get wrong. If you find any errors please let me know. A further update soon once I've done my blogs of this year's Suffolk Walking Festival... coming this week, I hope
Today I joined another walk from the 2023 Suffolk Walking Festival, a Rogationtide 'Beating the Bounds' walk.
My fellow TimesforTheTimes contributors Phil Jordan, Sawbill and I are continuing to produce Quick Cryptic crosswords to fill the gap left by the Saturday Times not having one. The plan is for us to take turns, publishing one a fortnight, and this week it's my turn.
A brief history of the origins of these crosswords for those who are new to them. As a blogger of the Times Quick Cryptic Crossword on Times for The Times every other Friday, I often had comments on the blog bemoaning that The Times only provides a Quick Cryptic on Mondays to Fridays. When I finally gave up work at the end of February 2020, I decided that I would try my hand at compiling crosswords. It was with some trepidation that I published, in May 2020, the first of these Weekend Quick Cryptics to fill the gap. Well it seemed to go down well so I did another. And then my fellow crossword solver and commenter on Times for the Times, Phil Jordan, volunteered to produce some too. And then, more recently, so did Sawbill. So now the three of us take turns, publishing each new crossword via my Friday Quick Crossword blog.
This time it is my turn to provide the fortnightly Weekend Quick Cryptic crossword, Number 77 in the series, entitled "It's Raining".
You can try and solve the crossword interactively here on MyCrossword or here on crossword.info. As usual you can download a PDF to print which you can find here. Alternatively you can copy and print the image below. Comments and queries are welcome with the solution post (which also gives tips on some of the clues). I will react to any comments or queries there as soon as I can. You can find an index to the complete series of crosswords here.
COME AND MEET SOME FELLOW CROSSWORD LOVERS. We are planning another London get together on Saturday 24th June from 1200 at The George, Borough High Street, Southwark, Greater London, SE1 1NH. All are welcome. Your Weekend Quick Cryptic Compilers and several TfTT bloggers and regular commenters will be there. We are also expecting Mick Hodgkin, the Times Puzzles Editor, Richard Rogan, Times Crossword Editor and Pete Biddlecombe, Sundays Times Crossword Editor and founder of Times for The Times to drop in. If you intend coming along, please drop me a line to Johninterred's Email, or send me a message via the "Contact Me" box in the sidebar, so we can have some idea of numbers and reserve sufficient table space.

While browsing for videos for my post about Vocal Sampling the other day I came across another A Capella Group.
This post is a bit overdue! On our 3 days walking the Thames Path at the end of March, one of the conversations was around the best bands we had seen live.
