Today I took Dawn to Sheringham Park to
see the Rhododendrons and go for a walk down to Weybourne and along a stretch of
the Norfolk Coast.
The walk was one I had first done with Joyce's group
at the beginning of June 2019 (see
here), which you can find on the National Trust site
here. We did it during half term last year too (see
here).
The
flowers were nearly at their best and, furthermore, like last year, the station at Weybourne was open and we got to visit
it as the trains stopped.
This was our route, going clockwise.
Here are a few of my photos.
Approaching Weybourne station.
Learning how to operate the signals.
We saw both steam trains arrive and depart the station. The carriages were pretty full.
Now down to Weybourne village.
The bus shelter has a mirror so you can see the buses coming.
We went into the Ship Inn for a drink and found they had a spare table for lunch so we had lunch as well.
Then it was down to the beach and along the coast path for a bit.
Dawn loves to see the sea thrift.
We saw one of the steam trains again,,,
...and the diesel mixed passenger and good train.
I climbed the gazebo to see the view - it was closed last year.
Then it was back through the park...
We returned through the rhododendrons.
A lovely day out, even though the wind was cold and we didn't get any sun.
You can see more details of our route
here on MapMyWalk (and download a GPX file
here) and see more of my photos
here on Flickr.
