Absinthe #2 - Bottling

I probably should have done this sooner, but we've been out every day this week so far.

My second batch of absinthe has been steeping in the green botanicals to give it colour for several days now. Time to bottle it. But first I needed to filter of the leaves and pieces of liquorice root.

All ready to go.

But first a sample to see how it tastes. Not as bitter as the previous batch as I'd used less wormwood and used the column in my still set-up rather than just the alembic hood. But still pretty good, although it seems to have taken on a bit of mint flavouring from the leaves as well as the colour.

A bit at a time - it doesn't all fit in my funnel at once.

And here is the final result.

It should be drinking nicely by the time brother-in-law Jonathan visits on Eurovision Song Contest Final night... of which more anon, I expect!
