Rougham Park Walk

Today we went for a short walk in Rougham Park with William, who has been home for a few days,  to view the rhododendrons.

We parked at Blackthorpe Barn and took a little detour through the woods on our way to the bridge over the A14.

Here are a few photos. We followed the footpath through the estate to the main display.

There was a carpet of petals underneath.

I liked this white one....

...and this pink one.

But then we saw some people joining the footpath from a mown path. I knew that there were some permissive paths through the estate so assumed this was one of them and we went exploring. Lots more rhododendrons!

We continued through the woods to join the footpath that led back to the bridge over the A14 round a field with cattle including a big bull. But they ignored us while we skirted the field edge.

Then it was back to the car park and home for lunch. That was a pleasant morning stroll.
