Ickworth Estate Walk

All this going on other people's walk is fine, but I need to do some of my own. Today I decided it was time I had a decent walk at Ickworth - it's ages since I had done that.

There are a number of waymarked trails at Ickworth, as the map shows.





But I decided to make my own ...

I started by visiting the Italianate Gardens. The Temple Garden has been restored to a a mediterranean style dry garden.



From here I headed to the Walled garden. Previously a vineyard it is still in the process of being redeveloped.



Then it was onto the Red walk up to the monument...



..and back down the hill past the Round House...



Here was a different view of the house from along the way....



...to the Fairy Lake...



...and onto the Blue Walk back to the walled garden and on up the hill to return to the Car Park.

A nice Friday afternoon walk.
