Nowton Park Yellow Walk

2018_0610_145121It was a lovely sunny Summer Afternoon. Just the time for a short walk around Nowton Park. It is ages since I had been, but it used to be a favourite weekend outing with the family at any time of year.

With the teenagers in the middle of GCSEs and 'A' levels, however, I got no takers to come with me and enjoy the sunshine, so I just walked on my own.

I decided to do the"Yellow" walk, that does a lap more or less around the outside of the park.

As you can see from my route, I kept out of the trees along the North East side of the park to stay in the sun.

Things to watch out for along the way are the Wild Flower meadow, 'Woodhenge', Panda, Totem Pole, Old Chapel ruin, Lake with Waterlilies and Maze....

I was lucky to spot this rather nice butterfly at rest along the way.I think it's a female Common Blue, but correct me if I'm wrong!

The Lime Avenue has some magnificent trees, don't you think?

I was quite warm so, back at the Visitor Centre...

...I was very glad of this thirst-quenching home-made lemonade with a scoop of lemon sorbet.
