KEGS Autumn Concert

Tonight we had the pleasure of attending King Edward VI School's Autumn Concert. As usual there was a great range of groups performing and William was a member of Otto Voci, Ex Silentio, the Orchestra and (not) The King's Singers. See if you can spot him in the linked photos below.

Highlights for me were:
  • Otto Voci (8 voices) -  'May it Be' from The Fellowship of the Rings. (Enya & Ryan). Nicely blended.
  • The Brass Group -  Sloop John B (Traditional). Very jolly.
  • The Little Band (or little Big Band) -  Think (Franklin & White). Great sound and solos.
  • Ex Silentio - Greensleeves (Traditional) and Adiemus (Jenkins)' Lovely expressive singing.
  • The Orchestra - Benedictus from The Armed Man (Jenkins). Great solos.
  • Kingettes (Girls close harmony group) - Oh Happy Day! Gospel!
  • Soul Band - Star Wars (Williams)  Very funky and
  • (Not) The Kings's Singers (all of the choral groups together) - Shadowland from The Lion King. A grand finale
You can see some more photos of the sell-out concert here.It was great to see the enthusiasm of the performers, not least the two year 7 girls playing trombone in the Soul Band. What an array of talent and testimony to the inspiration of Alex Fouracre-Smith and the rest of her Music Department. Well done all for a great evening's entertainment!
