Badley Walk

This was the invite from Joyce...

"This week's walk is Fri Nov 15th. The plan is to meet at Roots and Shoots Garden Centre, Stowmarket Road, Badley, Ipswich IP6 8RR and enjoy a coffee at 10.30am and then at 11am we will walk a 10k circular route from the garden centre. This is a repeat of Saturday's walk with an extra loop." Ah yes. Saturday's walk. I don't want to have to repeat myself, so read all about that here. The weather was rather better then, anyway.

This was our route...

And here are a few of my photos....

Nicky gave the Bury St. Edmunds contingent a lift. Thanks Nicky! Time to find the Garden Cafe for coffee (or tea).

The others joined us soon enough.

In the cafe there was a picture on the wall. We reckoned it was of Badley walk, remembered from Saturday, so I sought to recreate it. Meanwhile Bella was enjoying herself off the leash. She is a lovely dog,

It has the number 9  in shot, but it's not the view we saw in the cafe. Um. But Joyce got it. Do the posts have different numbers on each side to indicate an area (possibly for punters on a shoot to be stationed?) Yes they do! Here's the view looking back from the next post (which has a 10 on the other side).

Getting that sorted left me behind. Here are the rest of the group heading towards the church and farmhouse.

We passed this nice cottage.. .

...with well-defended hen coops.

It started to rain earlier than expected.

We saw Combs church in the distance but went the other way after crossing the nicely mown grass here.

Roland was modelling some interesting rainwear.

The guys in that van were responsible for the newly mown grass. They had been testing Bosch lawnmowers.

Leaves on the path by the road we walked along...

... through Combs village and past the Tannery.

As well as colourful leaves we saw plenty of red berries (and crab apples). Is it going to be a hard winter?

Joyce asked Glen for help with directions.

We passed Badley church again as we returned to our path from Saturday. We couldn't go in today, as it is only open at weekends.

We were sure the fields had become greener in the last 6 days.

Then it was along the road and back to the car park.

A nice walk despite the rain at times. Thank-you Joyce.
