It was sunny and the hoar frost was all melting, so we thought we'd go on a morning walk before it was all gone.
This was our route, up past the old Flying Fortress, across the Cattishall crossing and clockwise via Barton Stud and Great Barton village and back via Great Barton Church.
Here are a few photos.
It was funny seeing the piles of fallen ice under each tree.
We took a little detour to view this map of the massive Lark Grange development. It looks like the Flying Fortress will be brought back to life before they've finished.
In places it looked like it had been snowing.
Unlike last time, we had no trouble seeing Great Barton Church.
But this time we went the other way at the crossroads.
The Sugar Factory was steaming away.
We were able to walk past this puddle OK as we approached the main road.
Passing the fields of the stud, these young horses came over to see us.
More ice-droppings ahead.
A quintessential Breckland view of Scots pines (although we are not quite in Breckland here).
Passing the edge of Great Barton Village.
We went along the path through it. Dawn had never been there before.
The cottage opposite the end of Church Road has been re-thatched. Nice job.
Along Church Road we came across these budding winter aconites. They will be out soon, by the look of them.
Soon we were at Great Barton Church and then it was back over the Cattishall crossing and home for lunch.
