Lackford Lakes

After yesterday's gloom, it was a lovely sunny day again today so Sarah and I had a short outing to Lackford Lakes today There were plenty of others there enjoying the sunshine and the chance to see the birds.

We parked by the church rather than the visitor centre and walked through the reserve. Here are a few photos.

Sarah trying out the binoculars.

At the visitor centre we found some excited bird watchers. There were buzzards, a red kite and a march harrier flying overhead. Sarah got to spot them in the binoculars but I didn't manage to catch them with the camera.

This hide was closed, be we got a view from outside.

We saw several of these little birds diving in the lake. They are little grebes.

This swan was just by the path.

The sky and water were very blue.

We liked this shoveller duck,

As well as lots of rabbit we saw some cheerful daffodils in the churchyard on our way back to the car.

Well that was a lovely little outing.
