The forecast for later today was for thundery showers (although in the end they didn't materialise) so we decided to go a for an early walk.
We started by doing the Albana Walk but then walked down to the dribbling River Linnet and then up the hill on the other side and round past the monument.
Look what we found in the grass. Pyramidal orchids. and bee orchids!
...before taking the path shown at the top of the post, with lovely views towards the house and church as we descended.
That was a pleasant couple of hours before it got too hot and the grounds too busy.
