Absinthe Stage Two - Dilution

Today my absinthe-to-be maceration reached 10 days, so time for the next stage.

Simple enough - it was just to top up my mixture with filtered water to make 1.4l. But while I was at it, I took a little sample with my pipette to have a taste.


As you can see its a brownish colour. The taste was very strong and very bitter. Hmm. That will be the wormwood dominating the flavour then.

So now it is being macerated in a more dilute alcohol mix for another 3 days, More anon!
