Goodbye Eastbourne

Today was the end of our trip to Eastbourne.

Joyce had arranged one final walk for this morning, but Dawn hadn't visited the pier yet and we wanted to stop off at Scotney Castle on our way home (q.v.), so we just did the first 1/2 mile to the pier.

Here are a few photos.

We met at the Premier Inn.

It was a lovely sunny day again.

We were soon at the pier.

We said goodbye to the others here.

The traditional seaside pun.

We could see the others for a while.

No we weren't tempted.

Our last sight of the others.

It was very calms today and there were paddle-boarders and even a rowing 4 on the sea.

Looking towards Beachy Head with the strange of hotels of faded grandeur along the front.

Dan, Shaun and I walked past this on Friday.

Beachy head.

One of the decorative turrets on the pier.

Returning to the start of the pier.

Did anyone else notice this, I wonder?

A great long weekend. Thank-you Joyce for organising and to the others for the additional company. Sorry I didn't get to do the 1006 walk, but we had a good time on alternative adventures.
