Brandon Country Park Walk

It was a lovely sunny autumn day and maybe a last chance to see the Autumn colours at their best. "Would you like to go for a walk?", said the missus. Well, normally I would go and do the food shopping on a Saturday morning, but that could wait. We decided to go to Brandon Country Park and do an old favourite, the purple walk - now known as the Forest and Heath trail. Here is a map of the route...

We were hoping to see plenty of mushrooms, but I think they were a bit smothered by the leaves that had fallen recently.

There are plenty under there somewhere! The autumn colours were impressive. Here is a sample of my photos..

We were surprised to find the pumpkins in the walled garden still intact 10 days after Halloween.

I only wish I had stopped to photograph the spectacularly lined B1106 on the way there or back. But we needn't go far for good autumn colour. How about this mountain ash tree in our garden?

...and our Chinese lanterns?

It's a lovely time of year when the sun is shining!
