King Edward VI School Autumn Concert
Well that was a lovely evening out. It was a bit of a rush to get home from work in Cambridge and have something to eat beforehand, but I got there just in time.
14 different acts starting with the Wind Band and ending with the Orchestra and lots of variety in between. William, the model cellist, was playing in the Chamber Strings and Orchestra, but other delights included the wonderfully named boys' choir No Girls Allowed singing a medley of First World Was songs, Nina and the Neurons with a Frankie Valli Medley, the Soul Band with I Wish and This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)and the Kingettes close-harmony girls group with Hear My Song. Star of the evening, though, was the solo trombonist Jodie Mitson with Guilmant's Morceau Symphonique.
What a display of musical talent. And all credit to the wonderful school Music Department!
