Gibraltar Day Trip

We have stayed on after the Marbella Walking Festival for a couple of days for some sightseeing and more sun before heading for home.

Today we had a day trip to Gibraltar with Julia tours. It was excellent. We were picked up at 8:55 just round the corner from our hotel.

After arrival we had a couple of hours to look around the town (and have some breakfast) before our minibus tour of the rock. Our driver and guide, Jerry, was very entertaining talking to us in a mix of Hoorah-Henry and Mockney and a falsetto "My husband and I" whenever he mentioned the Queen's visit.

We visited Europa Point, the southernmost point of Gibraltar, overlooking the straits to Africa, and then St. Michael's Cave, where we got to see some of the macaque monkeys.

When we got back there was time for William and I to have a swim in the sea before we headed out for some tapas and a walk around Marbella Olf Town.

Here are just a few of my photos.

There was plenty of shipping.

The cave.

The macaques are very tame.

Back in Marbella. It looks like it is raining over there.

Tapas time.

The church tower is lit up at night.

A lovely day and evening out. You can see more of my pictures here on Flickr.
