Marbella 4 Day Walking - Day 3

Today was Day 3 of the Marbella Walking Festival. It was a sort of figure of 8 walk with several ups and downs and a bit of off-road walking. This was the the 30km version of the 20km route I did last year where some joker changed one of the signs, sending a lot of us uphill in the wrong direction. This was our route today.

Another sunny day, but it promised not to be as warm as the previous 2 days, with temperatures forecast to rise to only 21 degrees.

Here are a few of my photos...

A lovely clear pre-dawn sky again.

We had live music at the start today.

Our route took us through where the walking village was last year.

We passed close to the bus station. Dawn and William would be arriving there later today.

Checkpoint 1 seemed to come very quickly.

We had an off-road bit that was new.

But we were still in golf course land.

We were heading uphill.

Somebody had a Ferrari parked outside.

Nice flowers again.

Getting higher...

We again had lovely views. We could see Gibraltar clearly today.

On our way down it was nice to look back.

We passed the site of an old roman villa.

I stopped briefly to view the uncovered mosaics.

Back along the sea-front.

But then it was up again.

There were lots of these flowers growing wild.

Eventually we came to the park adn refreshment stop.

Back down at the front there were more sand sculptures.

Nearly finished. But here were Miranda Hayley and Chelle going in the opposite direction doing Chelle's extra distance to make it a marathon.

The beer was welcome again.

I went to meet them... yes Dawn and William had arrived and were coming along to the walking village to meet everyone and sign up for the 10km walk tomorrow.

Another evening meal expedition.

We visited Medium Rare again....

...and had a bit of a walk about the town afterwards.

Another great day's walking and partying. Last day tomorrow!
