I saw some lovely little cucumbers at the market the other day and couldn't resist buying them. Today I pickled them. But first I had to get some fresh dill... I found some at M&S in town yesterday. Then, last night, I had to salt them (and some onion) ready to pickle today...
I used this recipe. Here are the cucumbers and onion in the boiling pickling liquid.
And this is the result...
I will resist opening it until I have a nice Melton Mowbray pork pie to try it with.
But I had a load of pickling liquid left over. It would be a shame to just pour it away, So I didn't... Instead I used it with some more onion and red pepper.
Job done!
