Cavenham Heath Walk

Just a short walk this morning, but there was lots to see. We decided to visit Cavenham Heath.

As I had done before, we parked at the Icklingham side and walked down to cross the River Lark at Temple bridge. This was our route.

Here are a few photos. Before we got to the heath, we came across some sheep and lambs.

Dawn admired the procession of telegraph poles.

The sheep.

Crossing the river - it was flowing quite fast over the weir.

No heather flowers yet....

...but the gorse is in bloom with its lovely coconut smell.

The silver birch trees are coming into leaf.

A rare find on our path back - a minotaur beetle.

And one more little lamb. They are cute when they are small.

That was a lovely walk to work up an appetite for lunch.

You can see more details of our route here on MapMyWalk.
