Stowmarket Food and Drink Festival

Today Dawn, William and I took a trip to Stowmarket to their Food and Drink Festival.

The car park by ASDA was full but we managed to park in a side street about 1/4 mile away. It turned out to be a great 1/2 day out. We went home with some halloumi cheese, olive oil and Yum-yum tree fudge, but could have bought much more.

Here are a few photos.

The town square was surrounded by food stalls with seating in the middle.

William had some freshly squeezed lemonade.

These olives and different turkish delights looked enticing.

This gin stall had a still on display tht is just a bit bigger than mine.

Dawn had some local cider from this stall... which I drank most of. Dry and delicious.

They have human traffic cones in Stowmarket!

These macarons were very colourful. Too sweet for me, though.

We were able to go into the grounds of the food museum. They had cookery demos here.

The beer festival was running out of beer.

We had our lunch at one of the tables outside the Feast restaurant. Dawn and William had bagels whileI had a buffalo burger.

A local drama group took the stage and gave us a couple of food related sketches, firstly about planning to open a café and secondly about crop rotation.

We headed for home well fed, watered and entertained. We'll be back next year, I'm sure.
