Return to The Inn at Whitewell

After Sarah's graduation in York on Thursday (see here), we came across country to Clitheroe yesterday to visit Dawn's sister Jilly and husband Ian.

With all the recent rain we decided a country walk wouldn't be a good idea so did a walk around Clitheroe instead followed by a short drive of about 8 1/2 miles to The Inn at Whitewell, where Chris and Emma got married about 16 months ago (see here), for lunch.

The open fire was welcoming and out reserved table ready for us even though we were a good 20 minutes early.

We chose to have a light lunch of starters and desserts.

I had (from the day's specials) the Thai chicken salad.

Dawn had the venison terrine.

Jilly had the pear walnut and artichoke salad..

...and Ian the chicken liver pâté.

Puddings included the sticky toffee pudding,...

...and chocolate brownie.

But I had the selection of cheeses

Yummy!
