First Pickles of the Season

Dawn has harvested a few onions which had stopped growing, so I thought I'd pickle all the small ones.

I used this recipe.


Peeled and sprinkled with salt yesterday evening they were ready for pickling this morning.


I assembled all my ingredients and sterilised a few jars in the over at 125 deg for 10 minutes.


I managed to fill two jars.


Here they are labelled.


We now have to wait 3 weeks before they are ready, but we are still eating last year's. Those were not home-grown, though. I wonder what these will be like?
