ReplyDeleteActually I vaguely remember DASTARDLY. Was confused by Gabriel so put Angel at first, but changed to PETER.
Slow on ANTHILL, biffed TOP BANANA.
Liked STRIPE, COP IT, NUDGE, ACROSS, among others . Many thanks, John.
Sorry, that was Countrywoman.
ReplyDeleteThanks. PERFECT was probably the one I had most trouble with getting a clue that worked. Good to hear you enjoyed it.
DeleteDASTARDLY, ANTHILL, MEEKLY, and TOP BANANAS were favourites- thanks, John, great challenge.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I was pleased to Muttley into the clue for MEEKLY.
DeleteAn excellent puzzle thank you. Highlights included pit stop, dicky, across. But all good! Theme was fun. Chris and Francesca
ReplyDeleteThanks. As Brad had starred in it, I couldn't resist the reference to the film F1 in the clue for PITSTOP and I had to get "Races" into it too to go with the "Wacky" in 13D
DeleteLate to this John but just wanted to say thank you for a very enjoyable puzzle with some of the best surfaces I’ve seen for a while. NUDGE was a favourite and LOI PERFECT nearly beat me.
ReplyDeleteSpotted the theme once Dastardly was in place.
Thanks, Ian. Glad you liked it and found the theme.
DeleteLate to this, but an enjoyable puzzle, even if the 22ac "Anthill" and 14dn "Deputed" axis stumped me. 10ac "Peter" made me chuckle. Thanks!
