Today Dawn and I did again a walk I had liked when I did it about 2 years ago from Rattlesden (you can read about last time and other details here), although I adapted it slightly from the original Angels and Pinnacle Rattlesden Walk).
This was our route today.
Here are a few photos.
We started at the sports ground as before and headed towards Shelland.
There are plenty of sweet smelling bunches of elderflower at the moment but I didn't pick any - we haven't finished
the cordial I made last year yet.
It was nice and cool in the shade along Gypsy Lane, but first we had to wade our way along this path by the allotments.
Dawn had never been to Shelland before. We enjoyed visiting the church and the view back to Rattlesden.
There is a bees nest up there.
The thatched cottage on the green.
We saw loads of butterflies. Can you spot this one resting?
We saw Clopton Hall from a distance, but didn't go past it.
Our route back took us to the church...
...before finishing by walking past the cottages with pretty gardens along Bird Lane.
That was a lovely morning out. Then it was home for lunch.
You can find a GPX file of our walk
here.
