Following Jackkt's example, about a year ago I started capturing the Times Quick Crossword setters name on my daily solving.
Jackkt published his latest league table last week...
I've taken a slightly different approach based on the methodology of the SNITCH. What I've done is calculate my average solving time for the Quick Crossword over the year from 1st July last year (5:36) and then calculated a personal NITCH for each compiler by comparing my average time taken on their crosswords with my overall average time as a percentage. And this was the result..
Interestingly, those at the top of the table have all produced a small number of puzzles and maybe I took longer over theirs due to unfamiliarity with their setting style. There is some correlation with jackkt's list - e.g. Oink and Trelawney come out as easiest and Pedro and Felix come out as harder. It will be interesting to see how my table and his look in a year's time.
