Another Oakhill Walk

This morning we had a last walk with Sue before heading to Portsmouth to meet Laura on our way home. Just a local walk around the village and along the road to the nearby Ashwick Church.

This was our route...

It had been raining so we decided to stick to the roads so as not to get wet and muddy. Here are a few photos.

The stiles round abouts are in this style - made of stone.

Look how high the hedges are on Pound Lane.

The thatched Pound Cottage ha some coloured pheasants on the roof.

We visited St. James, Ashwick church.

The bells are impressive and there is clearly a strong tradition of bell-ringing.

As e headed back into the village the drizzle got a bit heavier. That wasn't in the forecast!

We were glad to get back into the dry.

Thanks for having us to stay, Sue. A lovely 4 1/2 days

You can see more of my photos here on Flickr.
