Jo Harrop at The Sunday Lounge

Today I dragged Dawn away from her marking of schoolwork to go to this concert at the Hunter Club...

and a pizza beforehand. We loved it. What a fantastic voice and some lovely songs. Dawn particularly enjoyed the Doris Day song "Secret Love", but I enjoyed the songs with a story, such as "I think you'd better go".

Harry was great on sax and guitar, as was Chris on keyboards, as always. The funniest part of the gig was when they did a number they hadn't rehearsed and when they got to the second bridge section Chris discovered he didn't have the music for it. After a few bars vamping they decided to jump to the chorus and it finished fine, but look of horror on his face when he got to the gap in the music was hilarious.

Here are a couple of photos of them in action:

A lovely afternoon. We left with autographed copies of both of Jo's latest CDs, her recent The Hear Wants and the (not yet released!) When Winter Turns to Spring. You can find Jo's site here.

Time to book our tickets for A Swinging Christmas 2022 now, I think.
