A Final Farewell to Hilda and Peter

Yesterday, after the wedding on Saturday, we had one more thing to do before heading for home from Whitewell.

Dawn's sister Jilly has been custodian of the ashes of my mother-in-law and father-in-law Hilda and Peter since Peter passed on in 2018. Finally Dawn, Jilly, Jane and Jonathan were all together and it was a chance to scatter the ashes. We needed somewhere that was easy to access as Jane is not very mobile and Dawn suggested Burholme Bridge, which we had walked over on Saturday (see here), less than a mile's drive from where we were staying.

On our way home we stopped at the top of the climb from Whitewell where there is a viewpoint.

Some lovely countryside for their ashes to flow through and disperse.

Moorland like they lived close to in Hawkshaw... and the typical Lancashire weather they were used to!
