Kitchen Replacement - Day 12

More construction and installation work in the kitchen and utility room today...

and we have some appliances! Mind you, only the dishwasher is connected up so far.

But we do have a sink too....

...and the cupboards in the "island" are all in place bar the shelves and doors.

The utility room is progressing too.

Our ovens and fridge/freezer have arrived and are in situ, but not yet fully fixed in or wired up.

The dishwasher has run its first cycle, but the door front has still to be fitted so the door is not properly balanced yet.

Stacked up against the far wall are the doors, shelves and drawers still to be fitted.

It's good to be able to wash up our few dishes in the new sink instead of the little basin in the cloakroom.

The dishwasher is a Neff N50.

I'll have to try connecting it up to be able to control it from my mobile phone over the weekend.

The cabinets around the walk-in cupboard are still not in place apart from the first one. The radiator behind the one you can see here needs to be removed first.

Harry the plumber came this evening to remove that radiator and connect it up to the replacement plinth heater.

He also removed the radiator in the utility room which is replaced with this plinth heater.

Well that's it for this week's work. Good progress, don't you think? Still plenty to do but work is on track. Thank-you Tony for all the hard work over the last three days, the flooring guys for stripping out the old tiles and laying the surface on Monday, Dawn for the painting on Tuesday and Harry for the plumbing this evening. I'm looking forward to being able to cook properly again by next weekend; well fingers crossed for that! Some proper lights and electric sockets would be good too.
