Dawn has been busy (understatement of the year) this weekend doing some painting.
Not all done yet as some of the plaster in the utility room hasn't properly dried yet, but a great start. Great work, Dawn! The colour,
Arctic Fox, is lovely with its subtle off-white tint that we think will go well with the
Karndean Rose-washed Oak flooring we're having (of which more anon).
The ceiling and walls in the kitchen are done, although they may need another coat -TBD
The floor in the kitchen is covered in plaster dust. Our cunning plan to avoid traipsing it into the rest of the house as we go in and out of the kitchen is to have footwear for the kitchen that gets swapped for slippers when we come out.
I neglected to mention that the start of the work was the arrival at 8am on Monday of a skip. Here it is with the first week's worth of debris. The old cooker, hob and extractor fan were left beside the skip and picked up later in the week.
I'm sure (not) you've been wondering what we've done with the kitchen table (which used to be Dawn's Mum and Dad's dining room table). We've dismantled it and the table top is now resting against the wall in the hall.
We (and you via the blog) will see how it looks without using table covers in the new kitchen.
Tomorrow : a start on the new flooring.
