Today it was the turn of the Floor Dimensions fitters to have a go at creating our new kitchen.
They stripped out all the old flooring and laid the foundations for the new floor. But first (as seen above) they had to remove the temporary sink and dishwasher. This is what we were left with.
But then we came up against a problem in the overall plan. Because we want borders around all the furniture, the fitters weren't happy with having to put the flooring in first in case they got it wrong and it didn't fit properly when the cabinets were installed. We agreed that it would be better to wait to lay the floor tiles until we had the kitchen cabinets in place.
So fitting of the kitchen furniture has been brought forward to start on Wednesday, with the flooring to follow. It's not going to affect the end date because the templating for our work surfaces isn't due to happen until next Friday. What is more, it gives Dawn another day of painting tomorrow to add another coat to the walls and ceiling. A good outcome.
Meanwhile, the cloakroom sink is where we have to do the washing up. Time for some ready meals we can eat out of the trays.
