Kitchen Replacement - Day 3

Today we had some more electrics done and a start  made on the plastering.

It was a bit of surprise when there was a knock on the door at 7:30am. Our plasterer, James, it turns out, likes an early start. Luckily I was up and dressed and just having my breakfast when he arrived. Here he is in action plastering the ceiling.

He has left his gear ready to start again in the morning.

Carl was at work again moving the electric sockets up in the utility room to cater for the new upstand on the walls above the surfaces to match the kitchen. You can see where the old tiles have come of and James has put a first skim of plaster over the grooves and holes. Our washing machine is still plumbed in so we can have a clothes wash tomorrow night before the flooring people come on Friday.

Update Thurs am: You can see how some of the plaster has changed colour as it dries. It looks as though it will be ready for Dawn to paint at the weekend.
