It was King Edwards School Spring term concert last night, this time themed around music from the 1990s, and William was performing in several of the groups, Notto Voce, The Orchestra and Ex Silentio. As always with their themed concerts, we were treated to a wide range of music and styles and great musicianship and enthusiasm from the students.
Highlights included:
Notto Voce - Friends of the Fresh Bean of Dibly (various)
A funny a capella medley of 90s songs arranged and directed by 'A' level student, Nina Sumerling, including various quick costume and prop changes and even the use of a Helium balloon.
The Kingettes - Black Coffee (All Saints)
The girls close harmony group were joined by a techno synth track and guitar. Great backing track and vocals too.
The Synth Surgeons featuring Tobi Smith - No Limits (2 Unlimited)
The start of the second half brought the house down. Great performance by Tobi and excellent synths.
Orchestra - Titanic
Nina's flute solo was the highlight, I think, but the ensmeble sound was impressive.
Soul Band - Something Got me Started (Simply Red) and Too Young To Die (Jamiroquai)
My favourite. They were pretty funky!
And here is everybody (billed as "Take This") performing the final number "Never Forget"
