Lackford and West Stow Walk

This was the invite from Joyce...

"Thursday 6th August: A circular 10-11 mile walk from Lackford Village (park on Old Bury Road, Lackford) and meet by the Post Box and footpath sign at 10.30am. We will have an outdoor coffee stop at West Stow Country Park at 11.30am (bring your own or purchase from the café) and then continue on our walk. End time by 3.30pm. 6 only on this walk so contact me asap to 'book' a space."
In the end it was just Joyce, Peter, Me and Dawn. This was our route.

Here are a few of my photos.

We met and started just by the old schoolhouse.

We passed but didn't visit St. Lawrence,  Lackford Church.

We found plenty of blackberries. They will be at their best in a couple of weeks, I think.

We walked anti-clockwise around the lake at West Stow....

..and along the River Lark.

We carried on along the Lark Valley path.

There is a river down there!

We then did some forest walking...

before lunching at West Stow Country Park.

Some more forest walking after lunch and we saw this deer run out in front of us.

A final drink stop.

And back along the river and round the rest of the lake.

Then it was back to Lackford with a view of the church again....

...and back to the old schoolhouse.

A lovely walk. Thanks, Joyce!
