Joyce's Mini Walking Festival

The walkers on 14th September - Ipswich to Woodbridge at the highpoint of the walk

Well that was fun! 11 days of walks in glorious weather around some beautiful parts of Suffolk (and a bit of Essex).

You can find the brochure here. I didn't go on all of them, but here is an index to my blog write-ups of the walks I did go on.

Sat 12th Sept - Hartest at Sunset - 10 miles with a stop after the first 5 mile route.

Sun 13th Sept - Hawkedon - A 9 mile circular walk with optional stop at the Queens Head pub after the walk. [I didn't do this walk, but did it recently with Joyce as described here.]

Mon 14th Sept - Ipswich to Woodbridge using the Fynn Valley Way. A 12 mile linear walk - train back.

Tue 15th Sept - Sutton Hoo. An 11-mile circular walk with great views of the River Deben.

Wed 16th Sept - Nowton Park to Hawstead. A 10.5 mile circular walk with coffee stop at Maglia Rosso using the St Edmund Way & Bury to Clare routes. I didn't do this one.

Thur 17th Sept - Stoke by Nayland. A 9-mile circular walk on the Suffolk Slopes.

Fri 18th Sept - Thorpeness to Sizewell. A 12-mile circular walk taking in coastal views and the Sandlings Way.

Sat. 19th Sept - Brandon Country Park – High Lodge. An 8-mile circular Forest walk. I didn't do this one.

Sun 20th Sept - Sudbury to Bulmer. An 11-mile circular walk in LoveJoy territory.

Mon 21st Sept - Shotley Gate to Pin Mill. A 13-mile circular walk with a lunchtime stop at Pin Mill.

Tues 22nd Sept - Snape, Aldeburgh, Thorpeness and Friston. A 14.5 mile circular walk with coffee stop at Thorpeness Meare.

A total of 27 people went on the walks and my 8 totalled 94.5 of the 122 miles total.

Many thanks Joyce for organising and leading (and Peter for leading too). How did you manage to arrange such good weather?

P.S. A broader selection of photos are available to view in my Flickr Albums here.
